Mozart’s Piano Quartets and Piano Trio by Normandy veteran, Lionel Semiatin.
This concert continues the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the World War II Battle of Normandy, Members of the Southern Illinois Festival Orchestra will be performing a Piano Trio written by American WWII vet, Lionel Semiatin titled "Variations and Fugue on a Paternal Theme." Lionel’s father, who was a Cantor in Dublin, Ireland, wrote the theme in 1912. It is for violin, cello and piano. Mozart’s two piano quartets in g minor and e-flat will also be performed.
