Chamber Orchestra Concert: "Music from 1776" ($20/8)

1776, the year of the Declaration of Independence in the United States, but what was going on in the musical world overseas? Well, Franz Joseph Haydn was in his prime at the Esterházy court, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was in Salzburg playing violin and piano in the court Prince-Archbishop Hieronymus Colloredo, and Johann Christian Bach was still living in London.

The Southern Illinois Music Festival Orchestra along with Soloists with be performing the following selections written between 1775 and 1777:
Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 3 (Josh Schlachter, Violin)
Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 4 (Kiril Laskarov, Violin)
Mozart: Serenata Notturna, K. 239 (Soloists TBA)
Haydn: Symphony No. 63 in C Major “La Roxolane”

Tickets at 6:30 pm.
Doors at 7:00 pm.
