* One of the Genre's Top Pianists and Teachers Returns Home to Perform, Inspire, and Create *

"Perhaps Javors' concern for the people he meets and his well-wishing for the world community at large characterizes his work.  His music has much to say, and the time spent in enjoying it is well worth the investment."    -Jazz Review

SIFEST is proud to announce that Dr. Keith Javors will return to the area briefly to teach and perform onJune 25th.  During the afternoon, he will give a pro-bono clinic and performance at the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale, and from 7:30 until 10:30 pm he will perform with bassist Jim Wall and drummerWayne Goodwin at the Grotto, downstairs from the Newell House.  Javors says, "I hope to give back in a small way to where I was nurtured and supported in my love and study of music.

The nighttime concert will be a "coming home" of sorts, featuring original compositions by the pianist as well as some popular and not-so-popular jazz standards.  It's a rare opportunity to experience Javors playing jazz live in concert on his home turf with an exciting band, where he's likely to find particular inspiration within the audience and experience.
