The 60-piece Southern Illinois Music Festival Orchestra and 30-voice chorus present a special Memorial Day concert, featuring patriotic music and a salute to America’s armed forces, at the brand new Marion High School Auditorium. The program includes the 1812 Overture, a musical setting of the Gettysburg Address (read by Marion Mayor, Robert Butler), the Battle Hymn of the Republic, Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, and much more.
