Klassics for Kids Schedule (updated June 13, 2011)

 

Klassics for Kids and Jive with Jazz are interactive concerts, designed to expose children to the joys of live classical music and jazz. Parents and care-givers are encouraged to help youngsters develop skills appropriate to a live performance in an informal atmosphere. The 2011 Festival presents Klassics for Kids and/or Jive with Jazz programs at Marion Civic Center, Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale, Carterville Community Center, The Old Feed Store in Cobden, DuQuoin Middle School, Cairo Public Library, Herrin Civic Center, Renascence House in Makanda, Murphysboro Youth and Recreation Center, Sesser Opera House, the University Mall and at Altgeld Hall on the SIU Carbondale campus. A special event this year occurs on Saturday, June 11 at 11am at the Marion Civic Center, as WSIU Public Television presents Angelina Ballerina live. All events are open to the public without reservation and admission free. Klassics for Kids is sponsored in part by Southern Illinois Ob-Gyn Associates and WSIU Public Television.

Please note that performers at each venue are subject to change. All performances, regardless of location or date, begin at 10AM.
