A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he began his training at age eight at Pioneer Valley Ballet, then located in Northampton, Massachus etts. Mr. Patterson continued his training at Ballethnic Academy of Dance under the instruction of Waverly T. Lucas, Nena Gilreath, Jose Rivera, and Ramazon Bapov, and later at the North Carolina School of the Arts (NCSA) with Melissa Hayden, Nina Danilova, and Christin Spizzo. Following his studies with NCSA, he continued his instruction with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School (RWBS) under the tutelage of David Moroni, Bruce Monk, and Jorden Morris. Having earned a full scholarship, he next attended the School of American Ballet. Following that, Preston spent a year in the Post-Secondary Programme at the National Ballet of Canada. He is currently dancing with Ballet Austin in Austin, Texas.
